In Canasta Fun, there is no minimum point requirement to start placing melds.

Melds consist of 3 or more cards of the same rank, for example, three 5s. A meld that contains at least 7 cards is called a "canasta".

There are two types of melds and canastas; natural and mixed. A "natural" canasta consists only of natural cards (no wild cards such as Jokers and Twos) while a mixed canasta contains wild cards (Jokers and/or Twos).

In a mixed meld, the number of wild cards (Jokers or Twos) can outnumber the number of natural cards as long as the meld consists of at least 2 natural cards (with a maximum of 3 wild cards per meld). For example, two 9s and three 2s.

Unlike Rummy, wild cards (Jokers or Twos) cannot be exchanged/ swapped from melds on the table.

It is not possible to meld cards to your opponent's melds.
